Having already worked with Nike several times in the past, Shawn Stussy looks to get back into designing sneaker with a different company. This time around, Vans Syndicate has teamed up with Shawn Stussy to launch his upcoming project, S/Double Studio. The sneakers appear sleek with a combination of leather and mesh complimented by red accents and “Syndicate” embroidered at the back heel. Shawn also incorporates a Stussy-like red midsole which reads” S Double and the Vans Crew Combo Platter 2009″. Keep an eye out for this pair when it releases around Spring or early Summer. Via RIF.

MARVEL ANIME TEASER

Marvel Entertainment Inc. has partnered with renowned Japanese animation studio Madhouse (Paprika, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Tokyo Godfathers) and multiple-Eagle Award winner Warren Ellis to create four all new anime versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. Get an exciting first glimpse of Iron Man and Wolverine on the trailer above. Iron Man still got his regular look while their rendition of Wolverine doesn't really look like Wolverine at all with his slim, androgynous look and long mullety hair.

These Marvel Anime TV series are being created as a way of merging the Marvel superheroes of western culture with the bold animation tradition of Japan. The series is expected to begin appearing on the Animax channel in Japan in spring of 2010.

NIKE SB X LIVESTRONG FOUNDATION

Created as part of the “Stages” initiative by Nike in collaboration with Lance Armstrong and his Livestrong Foundation. The most interesting pack is probably the Greatest Hits pack, which consists of collaborations with So_Me, Mr. Cartoon and Futura. In terms of clothing they worked on a Livestrong Flywire Windrunner and on a Nike Sportswear M-65 Jacket. All product comes in the black/yellow colorway, known from LIvestrong.

“Stages” brings together close to 20 of the world’s most creative and diverse artists to create original works of art inspired by Armstrong and his mission to raise awareness of the global cancer burden. This unique project brings together the world of art, philanthropy and sport, in a way never before seen, to create artwork that represents the power of human potential in overcoming adversity.
Artists participating in the “Stages” tour include names such as Shepard Fairey, Tom Sachs, Barry McGee and Marc Newson. All artists will begin working on their pieces between June and July, leading to an exhibition at the world renowned Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery in Paris on July 16th, 2009.

To further support the fight against cancer, Nike is releasing two sportswear collections, all proceeds of which will be contributed to the LAF. There will be a “Hope Rides Again” apparel and footwear collection and footwear “Greatest Hits” pack. Artists participating in the “Stages” tour include: Shepard Fairey, Tom Sachs, Geoff McFetridge, Raymond Pettibon, José Parlá, Ed Ruscha, Kaws, Christopher Wool, Dzine, Eric White, Barry McGee, Kenny Scharf, Os Gêmeos, Marc Newson, Rosson Crow, Taryn Simon, JR, Yoshitomo Nara, Suejin Chung, Lari Pittman, Aaron Young and Jules de Balincourt.”
